What a fun project for the Christmas Season! Children of all ages will enjoy this calendar. It comes with small pockets for the 24 days before Christmas. The pockets are 1.80” w x 2.60” h, just big enough to hold a wrapped chocolate piece or other candy. Of course, a surprise dollar in the pocket would also be welcomed, I am sure.

The top panel is a reminder of the true meaning and gift of Christmas.

There are 3 panels that are separately constructed in an 8×12” hoop and then stitched together on the sewing machine. The background of the calendar is lightly quilted. The faux binding also gets attached on the sewing machine. It is easy to do; we show you how.

Supplies Needed

• Fusible fleece (preferably heavy weight, like Pellon Thermolam Plus or Pellon 971 F).
• 3 contrasting/coordinating quality cotton fabrics for:
  • top; background; pockets; backing with faux binding as well as sleeve
• 1 1/2” fusible batting tape (optional) or fusible interfacing (optional)
• Steam a Seam 2
• Painter’s, masking, or paper medical tape (preferred)
• Mini iron
• Stabilizer: Polymesh (woven, cutaway) stabilizer
• Hanger
• “Goodies” for the pockets
• Micro sewing clips (optional)
