This checkbook cover for the 8×8 and 7×11 hoops is completely finished in the hoop. No extra sewing machine or handstitching required. There are optional elastic loops at the bottom edge of the cover for holding a pen. The loops are placed on opposite sides and with the pen in place, the checkbook stays closed. The project is completely lined.

The design can be stitched with or without quilting stitches. One of the versions shown was stitched on cork where the stippling was left off. There are so many possibilities with this design. Use favorite fabrics (like fabrics with pet themes) in the center, skip the scrolls, and make the trims out of coordinating fabric. Or take a tone on tone fabric for the center, stitch the swirls that come with the design and use coordinating fun fabrics for the trims.
